A university town on the Neckar, thirty kilometres south of Stuttgart — small enough to cross on foot, and used to hosting medicine.
Tübingen has one of the oldest medical faculties in Europe and a long tradition of hands-on teaching. The 2026 course was held here, and 2027 returns.

Stuttgart (STR) is the closest airport, roughly 45 minutes from Tübingen by direct bus or by train via Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof.
Frankfurt (FRA) and Munich (MUC) offer wider long-haul connections, each around two and a half to three hours away by ICE and regional train.
Tübingen Hauptbahnhof is reached by regional trains from Stuttgart in about an hour, with Stuttgart itself on the main ICE network. From the station, the old town is a ten-minute walk.
Tübingen is on the B27, about 40 kilometres from the A8. The old town is largely pedestrianised; use one of the multi-storey car parks at its edge rather than looking for a space inside it.
Tübingen is a small city and April is a busy month, so book early. Hotels in and around the old town put you within walking distance of everything, including dinner after the course.

The old town climbs from the river to the castle in a few hundred metres of alleyways, bookshops and half-timbered houses. Hölderlin lived in the yellow tower on the water; the punts below it are a local institution. If the weather holds in April, the terrace cafés along the Neckar are the reason people remember the meeting fondly.
